Snowy Owl Female

Catching up around here from a killer trip to Ottawa. It was minus 38 F on several days with big winds.. had a small window of gorgeous light and west winds.. so it was game on..... Haven't gone thru three more 32GB cards yet, there are a bunch of keepers for sure.. These regal majestic birds are one of my all time favorites.. had the best time with Rick and his lovely wife Marion... Rick had me in Snowy Owl Boot-Camp for four days.. Man i have never trudged thru 2 ft of snow before... it was an unforgettable memory!! I have some serious respect for the wicked winter you all have been enduring!!! This kind of photography is not for the weak hearted, less than passionate photographer!! The new Canon 100-400mm was the ticket for these shots with the 1dx!! Steve Elkins from Bedford Camera shipped me one two days before i left. It is such a marked improvement over the older version which was my first lens way back!! It's a keeper for sure, and is most impressive for flight shots, and large subjects!!! Click on image to enlarge......smile emoticon
