Cattails watching the sunset ♦ Les quenouilles admirent le coucher de soleil

Cattails, also known as bulrushes, had a number of practical uses in traditional Native American life. Native peoples in many lands used the golden powder on the pollen-stalk that rises above the leaves as a protein-rich ingredient in flours that turned out breads, muffins and pancakes. The root can be gathered year-round and employed as a starchy vegetable. Thank you kindly for your support and comments.
