Six days straight of 40+ degrees Celsius (104+ Fahrenheit) temperatures and then dry lightning storms with a slight cool change sparked numerous fires. One such fire started about ten kilometers from where I live and burnt over 12000 hectares. Stayed up most of the first night just keeping an eye on it in case the wind changed. Almost full moon rising next to the fire front reflected in a dam near my house.
