Man in the Moon

The Full Moon rising over Horseshoe Bend. With out a person in sight, we were the only ones here to experience the moon fully illuminating the scene. Watching the light drag like fingernails down the Bend itself was amazing and was great to capture as a time-lapse. This shot in particular of the "Man in the Moon" was planed before we arrived. We shot it with a really long lens really to compress the scene and if your subject is far enough from you the moon can look Enormous! The only trouble was that the moon wasn't exactly where I wanted it. So instead of getting a jet pack and flying out over the water I just shot the moon that was just off frame and composited the two shots together. Most of the time Photography is all about capturing a vision of what you saw, and I'll use any tool in my bag to achieve it. We shot over 15 Time-lapses here and can't wait to premiere them with our new Time-Lapse Film "Skyward" Set to release Jan 24, 2014! www.phototrekker.com/about
